A professionally monitored smoke detector adds another layer of protection.

When smoke is detected, your alarm sounds inside the home and your security system immediately sends a signal to our monitoring center - whether your alarm system is armed or disarmed. We first attempt to contact you to verify the alarm. If we're unable to confirm it's a false alarm, we quickly dispatch the fire department.

No Increase to Your Monthly Fee

One of the most common questions we hear is whether adding monitored smoke detectors will increase the monthly monitoring cost. With Alarmpro, it doesn't. If you already have monitored alarm service with us, adding compatible monitored smoke detectors does not increase your monthly monitoring rate. Equipment and installation costs still apply, but your monitoring rate stays the same. That means you can add another layer of protection without paying more per month.

Can My Existing Smoke Detectors be Monitored?

This is one of the most common questions we receive. Most builder-installed or electrician-installed smoke detectors cannot be connected directly to a monitored security system. Monitored smoke detectors are specifically designed to communicate with your alarm system.

That means adding monitored fire protection usually requires installing smoke detectors that are compatible with your alarm. Your existing smoke detectors can remain in place, but only the monitored smoke detectors installed as part of your alarm system can send an emergency alarm signal directly to our monitoring center.

Does My Alarm System Need to be Armed?

No. Monitored smoke detectors remain active 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, regardless of whether your security system is armed or disarmed. Whether you're sleeping, home for the day, at work, or away on vacation, your monitored fire protection remains active.
