Season: June 1st - November 30th

Each year hurricane season begins on June 1st and lasts through November 30th, with storms typically peaking in August and September. As with every hurricane regardless of forecast, knowing the essentials of how to prepare could truly be a life saver.
Here are some tips to be prepared this season!
Consider your Threats
These may be a threat to you and your home: storm surges, flooding from heavy rain, strong winds, etc. Determine which of these may affect your area and find our if you live in an evacuation zone! Don't forget to identify structural risks; mobile homes can be especially vulnerable!
Plan to Evacuate
If you need to evacuate, make sure you do so immediately and go to a safe place!
Do you know where to go? Check with your local areas website for information.
Plan well in advance if you need help leaving or use public transportation.
Prepare an Emergency Kit
Gather food, water, and medicine. Organize the supplies into a Go-Kit or a Stay-at-Home-Kit.

Food, water, and medicine (for several days)
Battery-powered radio
First-aid kit
Flashlight and extra batteries
Local Maps
